Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I am new at blogging but I hope that this will be a simple way to share the journey I am just beginning.
I’ve been a teacher for 8 years. I’ve loved that, and have always considered my classroom to be my mission-field. I have also had a heart for overseas mission and have believed from an early age that God would one day call me into long-term, overseas mission.
Over the past 18 months, God has been speaking to me and laying The Philippines on my heart. As I have sought further direction from Him, He has directed me to a Bible College in Montalban, Rizal, called Paul International College of Leadership.
The College is at the top of Gethsemane Prayer Mountain, a place dedicated to prayer and worship. PICL is committed to equipping dynamic servant leaders and influencers for passionate, Christ-centered, holistic, and biblical ministry in Asia and around the world.
The first time I met the students at the college, I was blown away by their dedication, commitment and faith. Though we had met only minutes earlier, they immediately shared this vision, that the Philippines would send many many missionaries to Asia and the rest of the world.
My main role at the Bible College will be to teach English to the first year students. While most of the students do their ministry in local churches in Tagalog, the Filipino language, they really value English. It is an international language which opens doors for mission work and widens their communication networks. It is a privilege to be able to help in this way.
I will have the opportunity to help out in other ways as well. I will assist in organising some of the major events including an outreach concert, a mission trip and the graduation.
March 2011, with the first graduating class
Since God began speaking to me about the Philippines, He has been teaching me many things. As I have been praying for guidance, He has reminded me that He is in control. While I was in the Philippines in April this year, I was reminded of Jesus feeding the 5000 (John 6). Two things struck me.
Firstly, Jesus took 5 loaves, and 2 fish, a small meal, but it was offered freely to him. He turned it into more than enough for 5000 men. I may feel that I don’t have much to offer, but God can take what little I have and multiply it for His glory and the advancement of His Kingdom.
The other thing is that when Jesus asked Philip what He should do, He already knew the answer. God already knows the plans He has for me. He is the one who is making a way and guiding my path.

So that is a little bit of my journey so far. I will do my best to keep this blog up to date.
I am so thankful to God who has provided all of my needs, including, but not limited to, my finances. I am also very grateful to my beautiful family, my supportive church (Darwin Baptist Church), my amazing connect group and my wonderful friends.
Let the adventure begin!
